Welcome to MotoParqueHonduras.com, the website for Mike Stone's off-road motorcycle and ATV riding area project. In January 2006, Mike purchased a 1561 acre property in Honduras, fifty miles northeast of the capital Tegucigalpa, between the towns of Talanga and Guaimaca. The gorgeous mountainous terrain is covered with pine forests. Elevation ranges from 3000-3600' above sea level. Climate is temperate, with year-round daily high temperatures of 70-86 degrees F.

Mike's project is to set up a motorcycle and ATV riding area on the property with about 30 miles of trails and a natural terrain motocross track. The plan is to have bikes and ATVs available, as well as food and lodging, so that riders and families can visit and enjoy several days of riding and other adventurous activities. There are also many hundreds of miles of jeep trails and dirt roads throughout the area's mountains for exploring, including excellent loops for long distance mountain bikers.

With off-road riding opportunities heavily restricted and getting even more so in many parts of the United States and Europe, it is Mike's hope to provide a fun, legal riding experience for adults and kids alike. Using his years of experience working with public land managers on multi-use trails in New England, Mike hopes to show that such an area can be maintained in a manner that is consistent with good environmental practices and that benefits the local community.

Featuring a complete workshop, MotoParqueHonduras can also be used as a maintenance/repair stop and rest break for long distance motorcyclists and other travelers.

Mike has ridden several enduros with Club de Moto Enduro de Honduras and is looking forward to hosting their events.
